I have tons of news regarding The Elysian Chronicles and A Prophecy Forgotten's upcoming sequel, Out of the Shadows. Unfortunately, that news must wait until I have time to get actually sit down and blog about it and update my websites, etc. (Some of my websites need massive amounts of updating.)
Right now the biggest news: I'm moving to Dallas. We're packing the truck today and leaving town tomorrow.
I realize this has come as quite a shock to a few of you (including some of my closest friends), so here is the skinny.
My husband and I sold our commercial cleaning business in July, and we are moving to Dallas to start another commercial cleaning business with a relative. Unfortunately, we could not breathea word of the impending sale to anyone until the day the business actually sold. After it sold, we had less than a week in town before we left for BabelCon in Baton Rouge and then for a 2 week vacation in North Carolina. I decided not to say anything on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, or my blogs until I had time to sit down face to face with a few close friends and tell them.
That's the skinny on my impending move to Dallas.
I know this seems like bad news to many--especially those of you who live in Naples who I am honored to call friends. I will miss all of you. On the brighter side, this move means that I won't be struggling with three different jobs and trying to write. I'll have more time to devote to my writing and to my blog, which I have sadly neglected during the past few months while we've been sorting through the business sale. The move also puts me in a central location within the United States, meaning I have access to more cities, meaning more potential fans. It puts me next to DFW, a major airport, meaning cheaper travel. I'm excited about this new adventure even though I'm sad to lose so many whom I've grown to love.
Now a few "bookkeeping" items:
- Naples friends and fans: I plan to be back in Naples to do the inaugural book signing for Out of the Shadows, so don't worry! I'll be back! My whole family lives in Naples and in Tampa anyway, so I have no choice but to come back to Florida.
- My mailing address is now changed, so don't mail anything to the PO box in Naples. I won't get it. :) I'll update everyone on the new mailing address later.
- Same phone, same e-mail for those of you who have those.
- We are going to continue Culture Watch Radio on Praise FM 89.5. We'll take a hiatus this week, but we'll be back on the air. I'll be joining in over the phone while we begin to explore the wonderful world of Skype and figuring how to make Skype work for the radio program.
To keep track of me and to stay in touch, here are a few sites you can visit:
I check Facebook the most frequently, but it's still really difficult for me to respond to comments in a timely fashion. Please don't feel hurt if I don't get back to you for a while. I sometimes get over 100 e-mails a day just from Facebook!
I promise that within the next few weeks, I will send out a long-awaited e-newsletter. You can sign up for that by clicking here.
Obviously, I've taken a little hiatus from my To Elysia and Back Again podcast. I'll be picking that up in about a month with some new adventures, so please stay tuned for more information!
