Today's post is about I Am Legend. What can I say? It's got some great Bob Marley music, and we'll be discussing probably one of Will Smith's finest roles. The man should have gotten an Academy Award for this, but they'll never give him one. He's too entertaining. I believe on this show, I also discussed frogs, coral snakes, how to sweep your attacker's leg, and a little bit of Sun Tsu. (On that note, did you ever think you could listen to a podcast that discusses Bob Marley and Sun Tsu? That's why you have to listen!)

The Final Cut in Movies Archives: 03/1/08 10,000 BC

To celebrate the return of The Final Cut in Moviesto radio and podcast, I'm digging into the archives and re-posting my old shows! I'm going to try to post 1 a day until April 3rd, which will be my first official show of the year.

Today's post is on 10,000 BC. Ah, yes, I remember this movie. It had so many negative reviews that I expected it to be as horrific as Starship Troopers. I was pleasantly surprised; it was only mildly dumb, and I probably gave it a better review than I should have.

My two favorite "awful" parts of this movie were:

• When our hero is running through the Himalaya Mountains in a "caveman running to rescue woman" montage when BAM! He's in a rain forest. Oh yeah! That's great editing right there, let me tell you.
• The killer bird things that looked like the offspring of an ostrich and a velociraptor.

I learned a big lesson from 10,000 BC: Never read reviews until after watching the movie. It keeps the slate pure, and it keeps me from giving a nice review simply for not being as bad as Starship Troopers.
